  2. Save Resources – Product application takes less time, uses less petroleum, and requires less equipment and fuel.

Asphalt Systems, Inc. (ASI) has been in the sole business of manufacturing unique and performance-driven asphalt preservation products for more than 40 years. ASI is the exclusive manufacturer and owner of the industry-recognized GSB (mineral sealer binder) product line. We take pride in our current product line, as we continue to research and develop new products. Our research has always focused on one thing: the preservation of the AC binder within a previously constructed asphalt pavement. We know the rocks are not in need of our help, but the binder within the pavement is.

We believe it is often not necessary to add 10, 20, or 30 pounds of aggregate per square yard to increase the service life of a pavement, and we have the data to back that up. ASI products are chemically engineered to restructure and preserve the properties of aged AC binders found on the surface of older asphalts pavements. Our mineral is a major part of this process because of its unique chemical properties; it is an unrefined asphalt, with beneficial properties that are unmatched in the refined asphalt marketplace. This fact differentiates GSB products from anything else in the industry.

ASI's top selling GSB-88®, for example, is a very environmentally sound solution to many pavement owners' problems. It is applied at a low application rate, using only about 1/2-lb. of sand per square yard. This treatment will remain effective for 3 to 6 years, depending on the pavement’s use, significantly outperforming other treatments of this type.

Simply put, ASI has been maintaining pavements all over the nation for more than 40 years. We do this with high-quality minerals-enriched products, and we will continue to be an industry leader in the asphalt pavement preservation field moving forward.
