WHY HIGH-PERFORMANCE ASPHALT PAVEMENT PRESERVATION MATTERS?
Hot mix asphalt (HMA) pavement surfaces deteriorate faster than owners want these days. Two things drive this:
- HMA isn't made with the same "good stuff" (i.e., high quality ingredients) it was years ago.
- Water and UV rays oxidize the surface asphalt cement (AC) – aka "binder" – hindering its ability to hold aggregate in place and the pavement together.
Our products deliver high-performance asphalt pavement preservation by putting the "good stuff" back into a pavement surface's asphalt cement – and protecting that "good stuff" – helping the asphalt cement hold aggregate in place and the pavement together. Our products do this by integrating with the pavement to:
- Restore the surface asphalt cement (i.e., replenish oils and resins lost to the original refining process and to oxidation over time).
- Protect the surface asphalt cement (i.e., seal it from oxidizing moisture and UV rays).
- Never crack, peel, or delaminate (which other treatments that “sit on top of a pavement” are prone to do).
When considering a surface treatment for your HMA, make sure it has the “good stuff" required to deliver high-performance asphalt pavement preservation.

We’ve been in the sustainability business since the company started over 45 years ago.
We believe sustainability claims should be subject to the same science-based analysis expected from any other product performance claim. We are the only company in the industry to have subjected products to Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), to have produced Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in conformity with ISO rules 14040, 14044 and 14025, and to have done both since 2011. Copies of the LCAs and EPDs are available upon request.
We are the only company in the asphalt industry certified for sustainability by GreenCircle® and ASTM.
